Privacy Policy

DXBi sets no cookies. We run no analytics, no advertising trackers, no pixels and no fingerprinting. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.

You can read this entire site without giving us anything and without us learning who you are. The sections below set out precisely what we do hold, why we hold it, and how to have it removed.

No cookies of any kind, including analytics, advertising and "essential" cookies. Your browser is sent no Set-Cookie header by this site.

No third-party analytics or tag managers. No Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Segment, Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog, Hotjar, Clarity, or equivalent.

No advertising or social tracking pixels, and no embedded social widgets or iframes. Links to social platforms are ordinary links that send nothing until you choose to click them.

No device fingerprinting, cross-site tracking, session recording, heatmaps, or behavioural profiling.

Web fonts are served from our own domain. Using this site makes no request to Google Fonts or any other font provider.

Account: if you create an account we store your email address, a one-way hashed password (never the password itself), and your account role. We never store passwords in a readable form.

Contact form: the name, email, company and message you submit, so that we can reply.

Profile: if you complete a profile, the details you enter — name, headline, biography, job title, employer, emirate, interests and a LinkedIn or avatar URL.

Reviews: if you post a review, its content and any display name or employment status you choose to include. Reviews marked anonymous do not show your name, but please note that specific details in free text can sometimes make an author identifiable.

All of the above is volunteered by you. None of it is gathered by observing your behaviour.

Our web server keeps a short operational log so that we can detect errors, outages and abuse. Before anything is written to disk, the visitor's IP address is truncated — the final octet of an IPv4 address is replaced with zero, and an IPv6 address is reduced to its first two groups. The full address is never stored.

We also discard the Referer header, so the log does not record which page or search sent you here.

What remains in the log is the request method and path, the response status and size, the browser's user-agent string, and a timestamp. A truncated address of this kind identifies a network range, not a person or a household.

These logs rotate on a short cycle and older entries are discarded automatically. They are never combined with account data, never used to build profiles, and never shared.

The site stores a small number of values in your browser's local storage. This is not a cookie: it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and it stays on your device until you clear it.

We use it for your light or dark theme preference, the list of companies you have added to the comparison tray, a flag recording that you have seen our privacy notice, and — only if you sign in — your session tokens.

Clearing your browser's site data for dxbi.ae removes all of it.

Articles in the directory cite their sources, and some illustrations are loaded from the publisher's own servers rather than copied onto ours. When that happens your browser requests the image from that publisher directly, and that publisher — not DXBi — may record your IP address and user-agent in its own logs, exactly as it would if you visited its website. Those logs are outside our control.

We limit what that request discloses: your browser is instructed to send no referrer, so the publisher is not told which DXBi page you are viewing, and these images load lazily, so a publisher is contacted only for an image you actually scroll to.

Outbound links to sources, company websites and social platforms are plain links. They transmit nothing until you click them, and once you do, the destination site's own privacy policy applies.

DXBi is a business intelligence directory. Alongside company, deal and market records, it includes professional details of named individuals in a business context — typically name, job title, department, employer, professional location and a public professional profile link. This is compiled from public filings, regulatory disclosures, official announcements, company statements and press reporting.

We include it on the basis of our legitimate interest in maintaining an accurate public record of UAE business activity, and we limit it to a professional context. We do not collect special-category data, and we do not seek personal details unrelated to someone's professional role.

If you are named in the directory you may ask us to correct your entry, restrict how it is used, or remove it. Write to privacy@dxbi.ae and we will action it.

To operate the directory, authenticate accounts, answer messages you send us, moderate submitted content, and keep the service secure and available.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. Where a service provider processes data on our behalf — for example hosting — it acts only on our instructions.

Account records are kept while the account is active and removed on request. Contact form submissions are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and a reasonable record-keeping period afterwards. Session tokens expire automatically and are deleted when revoked.

Anonymised server logs rotate on a short cycle and are then discarded.

You may ask us to confirm what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to provide it in a portable form. This applies both to information you gave us and to professional details about you in the directory.

Write to privacy@dxbi.ae. We will respond within a reasonable period and will not charge you for making a request. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to your relevant data protection authority.

Because we set no cookies and run no tracking, there is nothing to opt out of and no consent for you to withdraw.

The site is served over TLS. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. Access to the systems holding submitted information is restricted.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will inform you and the relevant authority as required.

If we change what we collect we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. A change that materially affects you will also be surfaced on the site rather than left for you to discover here.
