Actis acquires controlling stake in Yellow Door Energy
Actis (via its Energy 5 Fund, $6bn investable capital) signed definitive documents to acquire a controlling stake in Yellow Door Energy; existing investors Mitsui, APICORP and IFC increased their investments alongside the deal. At the time YDE had ~200MW of secured production capacity (106MW operational, 104MW under construction) serving 50+ blue-chip customers including Nestlé and Unilever.

YDE secured up to $33m in financing (DEG, DEG/EBRD joint loan, GEF via EBRD, Spain/EU carbon payments, with HSBC and Arab Bank support) for 8 solar projects (48.3 MWp, ~81 GWh/year) serving 5 commercial offtakers (Umniah, Carrefour, Safeway, Classic Fashion, Taj Mall) under Jordan's wheeling regulations — described as the biggest private-to-private renewables portfolio developed under that regime.

24.5 MW solar wheeling PPA with PowerX (South Africa)
YDE signed a 20-year PPA to build and operate the Naledi Ya YDE Solar Park (Leeudoringstad, North West Province, South Africa; 40,000+ panels, 43km line to an Eskom substation, 57.5 GWh/year), with PowerX (South Africa's first licensed private electricity trader) distributing the power to small/medium off-takers via the national grid. Construction was slated to start mid-2025 with commissioning expected 2026.

GWC solar partnership across three Qatar logistics hubs
Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC) partnered with YDE to develop solar power plants at three logistics facilities in Qatar (Logistics Village Qatar, Bu Sulba Warehousing Park, Al Wukair Logistics Park), part of GWC's carbon-reduction targets; YDE noted it had over 400 MWp of awarded solar capacity across 150 regional sites at the time.
