Overview

Utico FZC is a UAE-based private utility company incorporated in 2005 and headquartered in Ras Al Khaimah, providing engineering, procurement and construction for power, water and infrastructure projects alongside desalination, wastewater treatment, treated-water recycling, and power generation/transmission. It describes itself as the largest private utility in the UAE, operating multiple desalination and power plants across the Northern Emirates, including a Grupo Cobra joint-venture desalination plant in Ras Al Khaimah reported at roughly 24-30 million gallons per day of capacity. The company is part of the RMB Group conglomerate and has pursued capital-markets activity (a proposed $500m sukuk) and a high-profile, long-running attempt to acquire a controlling stake in Singapore's distressed water group Hyflux.
