Overview

Pure Harvest Smart Farms is an Abu Dhabi-headquartered agtech company that grows fresh produce (tomatoes, berries, leafy greens) year-round in climate-controlled, hydroponic greenhouses designed to withstand extreme desert heat. Founded in 2016 by Sky Kurtz, a former US private equity investor, the company says its systems use a fraction of the water required by conventional field farming and has expanded operations and exports across the Gulf, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. As of a May 2026 interview it remained actively operating, producing roughly 13 million kilograms of fruit and vegetables annually.
