Brookfield-led consortium acquisition of Network International
Brookfield Asset Management (via Brookfield Business Partners) agreed to acquire Network International in a take-private deal valued at approximately £2.2 billion ($2.76 billion), first announced in June 2023. The UK High Court sanctioned the scheme in September 2024, delisting the company from the LSE. Some reporting also links First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) to the consortium alongside Brookfield.

Merger of Network International and Magnati
Network International merged with fellow Brookfield-linked UAE payments firm Magnati to form what both companies describe as the leading fintech platform across the Middle East and Africa, serving 250+ financial institutions, 240,000+ businesses and 20+ million cardholders across 50+ markets with combined Total Payment Volume exceeding $400 billion. Regulatory approvals were secured around July 2025 with completion following in Q3/Q4 2025.

Network International became the primary in-store payments acquiring partner for Majid Al Futtaim across UAE retail locations, unifying its previously fragmented payments operations onto a single Network POS platform with real-time SHARE loyalty integration, biometric authentication and multi-bank reward redemption.
