SACE-guaranteed Islamic finance facility for IFFCO (Push Program)
Italy's export credit agency SACE partnered with IFFCO Group on its first-ever Islamic finance structure (Commodity Murabaha) guarantee globally, with HSBC as sole financing participant, to support the Italian food and beverage supply chain under SACE's 'Push Strategy' programme.

IFFCO Group pursued a debt restructuring (initially reported at ~$1.5bn in September 2025, later ~$2bn) with lenders led by HSBC; advisors reported at various stages include Alvarez & Marsal, PwC and Rothschild & Co (which reportedly replaced an earlier advisor); court-supervised proceedings in the Isle of Man and Singapore culminated in the company entering provisional liquidation around May 3-12, 2026, with FTI Consulting appointed as provisional liquidators while operations continue.

IHC and Mohamed Alabbar express preliminary acquisition interest in IFFCO
Abu Dhabi's International Holding Company (IHC, chaired by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan) and Dubai businessman Mohamed Alabbar (Emaar founder) separately expressed preliminary interest in acquiring all or part of debt-stricken IFFCO, reportedly sending letters to IFFCO's board and lenders. No formal offers had been submitted as of the report; IFFCO's assets were described as worth 'several billion dollars' pending the outcome of restructuring. Based on Bloomberg reporting; IFFCO, IHC and lenders declined/did not respond to comment.
