Al Habtoor Group initiates arbitration against Marriott over Ritz-Carlton Budapest management agreement
Al Habtoor Group, via its Budapest subsidiary, filed arbitration against Marriott International seeking to terminate the management agreement for the Ritz-Carlton Budapest and claim compensation. The 200-key property was subsequently rebranded to Al Habtoor Palace Budapest (confirmed live by Jan 2025) as Marriott ceased managing it.

Al Habtoor Group and Hilton partner to operate Al Habtoor City's three hotels
After ending its prior agreement with Marriott (which had operated The St. Regis Dubai, W Dubai - Al Habtoor City and The Westin Dubai Al Habtoor City until July 31, 2018), Al Habtoor Group signed a new agreement with Hilton effective August 1, 2018, rebranding the properties as Al Habtoor Palace (LXR Hotels & Resorts), V Hotel Curio Collection by Hilton, and Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City.

Al Habtoor Palace Budapest opens as first Emirati luxury hotel brand in Europe
Al Habtoor Group opened Al Habtoor Palace Budapest on Elisabeth Square, marking the first Arab-owned luxury hotel brand to enter the European market, coinciding with the group's 55th anniversary. The property joined the Legend Collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, and the launch expanded Al Habtoor Hospitality to 14 properties across the UAE, UK, US, Austria, Hungary and Lebanon.
